American anthem – harmonica tutorial

The national American anthem – “The Star-Spangled Banner” is almost 250 years old now and was composed by John Stafford Smith. This composition is mandatory during commemorations, celebrations and formal national events in general. It’s also nice to learn it on a harmonica. Medium tempo is quite convenient even for a beginner.

Keep in mind you are going to need a C harmonica for this lesson and other lessons on our site. Go through the harmonica below the text and try to play the corresponding notes. If you need more help, check out our instructional video for “The Star-Spangled Banner”. This is probably one of the most useful “songs” to learn on our site, so make sure you give your best and practice a lot! Try to introduce a little tremolo on the highest notes for a nice musical touch.
